Guest Poet
Nadia Freeman is a creative producer and electronic musician of Pakeha and Indo-Fijian heritage. Her works have been presented at the New Zealand International Festival of Arts, Kia Mau Festival, and the Edinburgh Fringe. Nadia is also the founder of the Eastern Sound Collective, a network for musicians of Asian heritage in Poneke. She was the 2023 winner of the Taite Prize for Outstanding Music Journalism. Her show The Girmit about the history of indentured labour in Fiji, is being presented at Fresh Gallery in Otara on Wednesday 20th at 6.30pm.

Joe Watson’s back ground was as a vocalist in Rock / Pop bands mainly in the early years, as well as some theatre productions. More lately folk has influenced his song choices and song writing. He delivers a mixed bag of genres influenced by artists such diverse as Tom Waites and Thom Yorke of Radiohead and some more traditional Celtic songs.
