GUEST POET

Bruce Bisset
ANNOUNCING! A major new collection from the “forgotten star” of Aotearoa / New Zealand poetry,
Bisset was prominent as a performance poet for most of a decade in the 1970’s-80’s, touring constantly and sharing stages with many of the top poets and musicians of the day while living off his work.
He published three volumes of poems during that time, which all sold well; his first collection “beginnings” (1979) was a best-seller, reprinted twice with almost 5000 copies sold.
Since he regards performance as “half the art”, he has not published since he stopped performing c.1986. But he never stopped writing.
Now a selection of his output of the past 40 years (1984-2023), chosen by former laureate David Eggleton, has just been published (Sept 1).
Entitled “endings”, both for its recurring themes and to bookend “beginnings”, this is a collection which can only reinforce Bisset’s reputation as a strong vocal proponent of the art in A/NZ.
GUEST MUSICIAN
Augustus Mac Kenzie

Augustus has been playing guitar for 17 years, with a special focus on acoustic Fingerstyle. He plays instrumental songs that aim to captivate the soul, tell stories without words, and leave the audience with a profound sense of wonder.
